Himalayan Institute Cameroon

One of the most exciting, and far-reaching humanitarian projects ever undertaken by the Himalayan Institute is their first Community Center in Africa. It serves as a flagship rural empowerment project, and a model for the many HI Community Centers envisioned to spread across Africa. Nestled in the mountains of north-west Cameroon in West Africa, the Community Center is located on the outskirts of the town of Kumbo.

The Community Center's first rural empowerment projects include:

  • Sacred Link™ Jewelry Vocational Training and Internship - offering local students the knowledge, materials and tools needed to sell their efforts world-wide.
  • BioVeda™ Energy Farming Program - a large-scale community tree plantation, offering training to local farmers in advanced farming and land management techniques so they can join the Institute's local Community Cooperatives which promote sustainable cultivation of a diverse range of crops.

Now is the time to make a difference. Your kindness and generosity will serve at a crucial time, as the Community Center’s next round of prospective initiatives are underway. These include carpentry vocational training, a health clinic and dispensary, a public library, and our flagship BioVeda Energy Farming training facility and demonstration farm. Your support will help enable these rural empowerment projects to become a reality.
